2020 Sangiovese

Cornicello 2020 Sangiovese honors the ancient origins of the storied wines of Tuscany. Harvested from Luna Matta vineyard at an altitude of 1600 feet in Paso Robles, California, this varietal is the result of 18-month aging in neutral French oak Certified organic CCOF, native fermentation. On the palate, this vintage is generous, with flavors of red currant, tart cherry all bracketed by ripe dusty tannins and softly integrated berry acidity, which carry the flavors through a long, elegant, beautifully bitter finish that begs you to take another sip. Try pairing alongside anything from pasta to grilled steak.  Drink now thru 2030.

CORNICELLO WINE

Wine, cycling and architecture are my three passions. They nourished me and made me grow. I was born in Brooklyn NY, I grew up in a big city, the energy of the city always inhabited my mind as a child and continues to do so as an adult. Although far from any vineyard, my frequent trips to Italy bridged the gap of city life and farm life. Here I was left with only my palate and curiosity for wine and winemaking.

Years had past since those frequent trips to Italy as a young adult. But my memories of the Italian country side guided me to Paso Robles were I meet and learned from winemaker Tyler Russell. Tyler and I have continued to work together to create these amazing wines.
